Gojurn Privacy Policy

Effective March 1, 2016

Your privacy is important to us. Please read these terms carefully. By accessing or using our Products, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and our Terms. Like many services (Facebook, Google, Pinterest) we require certain information in order to provide our products to you and make it possible for you to discover great recommendations.

What information do we collect?

1. Information you provide to us or give us permission to collect

When you sign up for or use our products, you voluntarily give us certain information. This can include your name, profile photo, comments, likes, email address you used to sign up, and any other information you provide us. If you’re using Gojurn on your mobile device or desktop, you can also choose to provide us with location data.

You also may give us permission to access your information in other services. For example, you may link your Facebook account to Gojurn, which allows us to obtain information from that account (like your friends or contacts). The information we get from that service often depends on your settings or their privacy policies, so be sure to check what those are.

2. Technical information we get when you use our products

In order for us to provide our products to you we need to collect some information. Here are some of the types of information we collect:

Technical data. When you use Gojurn, our servers automatically record information (“technical data”), including information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website or your mobile app sends when you’re using it. This technical data may include your IP address, your device/OS type, the URL of the web pages you visited, browser type and settings, the date and time of your visit, how you used Gojurn’s products, and cookie data.

Cookie data. We use “cookies” (a small text file sent by your computer each time you visit our website, unique to your Gojurn account or your browser) or similar technologies to record technical data. Some of the cookies we use are associated with your Gojurn account (including personal information about you, such as the email address you gave us), and other cookies are not.

3. Information our partners share with us

Sometimes our partners may let us collect information when you use their services, or may share with us the information they collect. For example: Some websites or apps use Gojurn features or plugins. If so, we may collect technical information (described above) from those sites or apps.

How do we use the information we collect?

We use the information we collect to provide our products to you and make them better, develop new products, and protect Gojurn and our users. We also use the information we collect to offer you customized content or experiences. We may also use the information collected to contact you regarding your use of our products (including but not limited to updates, notices and marketing).

The information we collect may be “personally identifiable” (meaning it can be used to specifically identify you as a unique person) or “non-personally identifiable” (meaning it can’t be used to specifically identify you). We use both types of information, and combinations of both types, as described above. We may use or store information wherever Gojurn does business, including countries outside your own.

How and when do we share information?

Personally Identifiable Information: Gojurn will not rent or sell your personally identifiable information to others. We may store personal information in locations outside the direct control of Gojurn (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers). Any personally identifiable information you elect to make publically available on the products, such as posting comments on our blog page, will be available to other users. If you remove information that you have made public on the products, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of the products, or if other users have copied or saved that information. To request removal of your personal information from our blog, site or app, contact us. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information: We may share non-personally identifiable information (such as anonymous usage data, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, number of clicks, etc.) with interested third parties to help them understand the usage patterns for certain Gojurn products and those of our partners. If you remove information that you have made public on the products, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of the products, or if other users have copied or saved that information. Non-personally identifiable information may be stored indefinitely.

If we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety, rights, or property of the public, any person, or Gojurn; or to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.

We may engage in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, reorganization, or similar transaction or proceeding that involves the transfer of the information described in this Policy. We may also share aggregated or non-personally identifiable information with our partners, advertisers, or others.

Our policy on children’s information

Gojurn is not directed to children under 13. If you learn that your minor child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us.

How do we make changes to this policy?

We may change this policy from time to time, and if we do we’ll post any changes on this page. If you continue to use Gojurn after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy. If the changes are significant, we may provide more prominent notice or get your consent as required by law.
